Whaddaya Think?
I’m counting on you, my friends! I need to know, if some rad publisher were to print a Young Adult book by me, would you run right out and buy it? Sleep with it under your pillow? And then cherish it like fine gemstones? Or, you know, would you at least read it? Also, and this is really important, how would you classify yourself as a reader: A. Teen B. Teen trapped in an Adult’s body C. All Grown Up and Loving It!
Thank ya! This means a lot to moi!

I am D – all grown up and loving it, but I like to remember what it was like to be a teen and relive it through fiction
I would definitely read a YA book by Jennifer Rardin.
March 16th, 2010 at 1:00 pm
I would say i read about 90% adult and 10% YA! Most of the books i love are adult.
I would definitely read a YA book by you Jen!
(i did answer this on facebook too, but just thought i’d say it again!)
March 16th, 2010 at 1:06 pm
I’m with Amber! I’d be happy to buy and read a YA book by you! (But please please – more Vayl and Jaz too!)
March 16th, 2010 at 1:10 pm
Have to go with Grown up and loving it and YES!!! I would read it as fast as I could get my hands on it!!!
March 16th, 2010 at 1:19 pm
I’d definitely read your YA book, Jen. As for sleeping with it under my pillow, probably not – I already have all the Jaz Parks books under there! (Not really but they are in my ‘special books’ collection)
There are lots of things about being a teen I wouldn’t wish to repeat, so I’d say I’m a C with maybe a chunk of kid and smidgeon of teen thrown in there.
And then there’s my obsession with children’s books and movies.
And the times when my husband calls me a big baby!
And the big fat crush (how adolescent of me!)on Hugh Jackman
March 16th, 2010 at 1:21 pm
I would totally buy the book! I know it would be well-written especially since it’s by you!!!
I am a teen (in real-life) but when I read I think I’d be considered an adult because I read mostly adult books. I really love teen books that are well-written especially this one I just read called “Last Night I Sang to the Monster” by Benjamin Alire Saenz. It wasn’t what I would usually read but it was a beautiful story.
I look forward to all of your books!!!
March 16th, 2010 at 1:52 pm
I’m in category C, but not only would I buy it and read it, but odds are very high that I would then purchase a second copy as a gift for my husband’s goddaughter, who is freshly arrive into the teenager years and could use some strong-yet-feminine role models in her upcoming reading. I’d hate for her reading choices (after such classics as Diane Duane’s YW series) to be limited to bodice rippers versus male-protagonist adventure series!
March 16th, 2010 at 2:05 pm
Of course we’d read it… you know your awesome writing style carries across all genres, from adult to YA to whatever else you might try your hand at. Believe it or not its hard to find authors (authoresses?) with writing style that’s as easy to fall into- and become addicted to- like you do. I’m sure we’d follow you trustingly no matter where you lead… :>

Adult and I’m all grown up and lovin it! I have read teen before but always think of the characters as my own age regardless! I’m 32 but still thunk I’m in my mid 20′s. I read your books and escape for awhile and get my kicks from Reading the steamy bits (when hubby is away for months at a time you’ll settle for all you can get! Lol )
I think that there are more than enough Y/A books in this genre and would like for you to stay exclusively for us adults. You are my favourite author alongside gena showalter and laurel k Hamilton. Keep em comin please …faster.

I’m c, definatly, but I do enjoy good fiction regardless of level.
Of course I would read it if you wrote it, can even think of a few teens I would recommend it to
March 16th, 2010 at 4:15 pm
I’d at least read it. And I’m B) A teen in an adult’s body, except with a smaller rack
March 16th, 2010 at 4:57 pm
I would buy it, read it, and love it. I’m D as well… all grown up and loving it, but love to read teen books to get my teen fix.
March 16th, 2010 at 5:05 pm
I am way past even THINKING I’m a young adult, lol. I do love your books, though. Incredible character development, plot development and story line… I’m being selfish when I say I wish you would just continue writing the adult stuff, though. I can’t get enough….
March 16th, 2010 at 5:46 pm
I am an adult and LOVING IT! But I love your books so I would buy a YA book that was written by you. It would be a great way to let my daughter read some of your books. But I can’t wait to read Jaz’s next book.
March 16th, 2010 at 6:29 pm
I’m all grown up and lovin it. To me it doesn’t really matter what the genre or target audience is, if I find an author I love (and yes Jen, you of course fit into that catergory) I will buy or at least read all of their work.
Plus I have a daughter who is not long off her teens so buying YA just contributes to my daughters future library.
March 16th, 2010 at 7:09 pm
I’m all grown up and lovin it!
I Love your books Jennifer, I’d go out and buy something else written by you!
March 16th, 2010 at 7:24 pm
I would say I’m a C but I think we’re all still a bit young at heart. I’d definately buy a YA book by Jennifer Rardin because I really love the Jaz Parks series (can’t wait for the next one!) and i really like the way the books were written, so I’d definately pick up anything written buy her.
March 16th, 2010 at 8:14 pm
I would read ANYTHING you write Jen. I already keep your books right next to my bed, so I would be happy to add another to the stack. I am defiantly both kinds of readers. Adults books are great, but YA have just as much appeal.
March 16th, 2010 at 10:13 pm
I am D: too old to be a teen but too young to be an adult, so I would absolutely adore a YA book by you if you were to write one–just, please… low on the high school angst (tentative request)?
… Nah. Your characters would be too tough and kick a*s to be angsty. I’d love it if you wrote a YA book!!!
March 16th, 2010 at 10:23 pm
If I don’t buy your YA book, I’m pretty sure my mom would. I introduced her to your work after I saw she was reading that fake vampire story Twilight. She can’t get enough of you and is buying books for gifts.
As a reader, I’ld have to say I’m a C.b I love reading the adult stuff, but being a busy student I find that YA’s are much easier to read. I can finish one during a vacation, they are a lot easier to get through and yet still a joy to read.
March 16th, 2010 at 10:51 pm
Please please please, write a YA!!!! I love it when my fav authors venture into YA as well. Kelley Armstrong has a trilogy, the 3rd part coming out this spring, YA an I adore it as much as her regular series. I am so teen trapped in a grown up, but I also think I’m a big kid too. Love all the genre ages.
II would not only buy your YA books, sleep with under my pillow, cherish them as the gemstones they are sure to me and read them, but I would force all my family and friends to read them just as I do your Jazz books.
Can’t wait to see if you take the plunge into YA!
March 17th, 2010 at 4:09 am
I would definitely run out and get it, like yesterday. I wouldn’t be able to sleep with it under my pillow though cause I move around a lot and it would ruin the pages. Then I wouldn’t be able to read it over and over again. Which would not be good.
As for the choices I would have to say B. because I’m not a teen anymore. I’m an adult, but I still have a lot of growing up to do… So A and C are out of the question.
March 17th, 2010 at 5:20 am
All of the above! If I had the money or you know… make my boyfriend buy it for me cause he loves me oh so much XD It would not only serve as a extra pillow, I LOVE pillows, but also as a teddy bear and cat bed since my cat Garfield likes to use books as a pillow, when it happens to library books I drop them off and run like no tomorrow!
As far as age goes, can I be both a teen and an adult trapped in a teens body since I’m turning 19 next week? So technically A but in theory B. That makes sense right?
March 17th, 2010 at 6:37 am
In age I’m an adult but I still buy picture books I like!! By the way read ‘our tree steve’ by Alan zweibel it’s a very cute picture book.
Hubby just grins at me over it.
Like I said on the fb picture books for EJ would rock!!
March 17th, 2010 at 9:43 am
I am C — hear me roar! (cough-cough)
While I probably wouldn’t run right out and buy a JR YA, I would definitely read it. And as for the whole gem treating thing, mmmm-nope. I have to save all my lovin’ for Vayl =)
March 17th, 2010 at 9:48 am
We would run out in a heartbeat and buy your books!! You are by far one of our favorite authors. If you are going to try new avenues and new characters we will definately through in our support!
March 17th, 2010 at 2:03 pm
I’m {mostly} a grown up. At 42 I oughta be. But I have read all the Harry Potter books (btw they were originally recommended to me by another grown up), the Lightening Thief, James Patterson’s Maximum Ride series (until it got too much save the planet and not enough actual storyline). Anyway, point being I would probably read it. Looks to me like the vote tends to be – write it, put it out there, and we will come (and buy it).
March 17th, 2010 at 8:23 pm
I am definetly all grown up and lovin’ it but since I enjoy the Jaz books so much that I would check it out. If I really enjoyed it I would totally recommend it to my high school age students.
March 17th, 2010 at 8:49 pm
When it comes to books I am a teen trapped in an adults body. While I also love reading adult books, I probably read just as much YA. I would run out and buy it. Probably even wait in line.
March 17th, 2010 at 11:16 pm
B i guess. I’d definalty run out and buy it, like, straight away.
And it would defiantly sleep by my pillow, as i have absoloutely no more rooms for books on my shelf
March 18th, 2010 at 11:43 am
Hi Jenn,
Yep, as a confirmed Bibliophile, books by faved authors are bought no matter what.

I’m definitely C. And I would definitely read it, carry it around in my purse everywhere, and sleep with it. I don’t sleep with books under my pillow, that might squish them…instead, they sleep on my bed next to my pillow but always with me. And I would read anything you write Jen because your writing is witty and fresh and fun and BRILLIANT!! If your grocery list was as awesome as your Jaz books, I’d read those too! So I am definitely on board with all your other lovers and fans with this new YA book idea, project, fetish, whatever! Count me in! I’ll be there in publication day begging for it!
March 20th, 2010 at 11:22 am
C… and i would read anything you wrote.
March 21st, 2010 at 1:34 am
Woopsies, meant to press A lol
March 25th, 2010 at 12:42 pm
I’m in my early twenties, so at the moment I’m C: all grown up and loving it! (I’ll probably revert to B in a few years). I don’t read YA very often, but I try to read all of my favourite authors’ YA contributions, so I would definitely read yours!
April 10th, 2010 at 12:52 am
I will happily run out and buy anything you write, probably mutiple copies so that when my friends steal them, I have a back up
Oh, and I am definatedly a B, I am constantly being told to grow up, but I say NEVER!!!
June 3rd, 2010 at 1:29 am
I’m A and I would completely go out and buy your book!
September 1st, 2010 at 2:08 am
I am a YA. I read. And read. And read. I love nearly any genre of book and I recommend books based on if I finish the book/series or not. The Jaz Parks series is frequently spouted off as a recommendation. I would get any YA book and even sleep with it under my pillow that was written by you.
September 2nd, 2010 at 7:39 am
Aw, Sarah. You rock!
