Biggest Announcement Yet!!
I’ve signed with Orbit to do three more books in the Jaz Parks series! (Should I mention here that I’m now hoarse from emitting squeals of delight at random intervals? It’s part oh-cool-I-get-to-continue-Jaz’s-adventures and part cruel enjoyment of making my family jump and look startled.)
What I can tell you about book six, which I’m working on right now, is that it takes place in Australia, about an hour south of Sydney. We’re going to call it Bite Marks. And there are gnomes. Not your garden variety (snort). Bad’uns. And since I’m right in the middle of a scene involving those very creatures, I’d better get back at it. If I don’t they could start swarming, and you don’t wanna know what happens then!

I think this is the best news I’ve heard all day!
September 8th, 2008 at 8:21 am
Cool! Maybe we’ve started you on a roll and you’ll just be showered with good tidings for the rest of the week!
September 8th, 2008 at 9:01 am
Yay Jennifer!!! I can’t make happy squeals or else the dog will freak out, but yay!
September 8th, 2008 at 9:33 am
*squeeing a teensy bit*
September 8th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
*GASP*
Okay, this makes up for me stewing over Eurovision Dance being infuriatingly biased and for my favourite racing driver’s best win being stolen from him for no reason. (on that note – YAY MURRAY)
And also OMG at an hour north of Sydney. One of my very best friend lives/lived in that zone. I don’t know exactly where you’re locating it, but the area I was in felt like I was stepping out of the ghetto and into some kind of warm, grassy, perfectly safe fantasy land.
I don’t know whether to say congratulations or thank you, haha. So I’ll say – both?
September 8th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *bounces and jumps up and down like a madwoman* I’m SO EXCITED. Congrats, Jen. That’s AWESOME news! Heehee!
September 8th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
Congratz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is brilliant news, I am sooOOoo pleased for you and also glad that there are more adventures for Jaz and Vayl on the horison *dances*
This is probably the best cheer-up after a first day back to college!!!
September 8th, 2008 at 12:38 pm
Thanks everybody! Someday, hopefully, we’ll all be in the same place at the same time. At which point we’ll have a big party to celebrate. (Maybe not this–but we’ll think of something. I’m pretty good at that. One time we spent an entire evening celebrating our new ice maker!)
September 8th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
First Scott Dixon won Indy, now I find out I have more Jaz books to feed the addiction with, YIIIPPPPPEEEEE. This is shaping up to be a good week
Congrats.
September 8th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
Thanks, Penny!
Wasn’t that awesome about Scott? You should’ve seen me toward the beginning of that race. I was practically foaming at the mouth, raging that they were letting him run so far back, because I was sure some schmuck was going to wreck him (which Danica almost went and did). SO happy he won the championship! Even though it means I lost the lead in my fantasy racing league series. Well worth it!
September 8th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
What great news on the first day of the week!! Does this mean the whole week will be like this … something good every day of the week??
I am VERY HAPPY to heat that Jaz will stay with us for 3 more books!! Congratulations Jennifer!!
September 8th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
Ohh that is ace cant wait for book 6
September 8th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
It makes sense you picked NSW – that state is more for visiting, whilst Victoria (mine) is more for living
Ooh, ooh! Wouldn’t it be an ace bit of cross-promotion if Orbit could send you to Australia for Bite Marks’s release? If you came to my state, I’d definitely come see you
Have a lovely day!
September 9th, 2008 at 3:57 am
Yay for more Jaz **happy dance** Mum is buying my the whole series for my birthday in November (even though she thinks I am a little mad for wanting books).
Sooooo glad Jaz is coming to Oz although might I say that there is a whole lotta country other than Sydney… like the Great Australian Bite. LOL. There’s the outback with the min min lights, and creepy things in the bush (have you seen Wolf Creek?). Maybe she should stay a while longer than just one book.
OMG TezMiller is right, you MUST MUST MUST come to Australia for Bite Mark’s release. I would soooo be there!
September 9th, 2008 at 6:40 am
Thanks Alina & Chanel. Glad you’re as psyched as I am!
Okay, two votes from Tez & Eeyore that I should definitely come to Australia for the release of Bite Marks. Add mine to that and I think we have an overwhelming majority. Now, if we can just get a million people to buy One More Bite, I think we can convince Orbit it’s a great plan. Otherwise I should probably start building my boat now!
September 9th, 2008 at 11:57 am

Right, Get Orbit to include the NZ releases as well, after all its just a short hop across the “ditch”
Hmmm, how can I convince my husband I need 250,000 copies of Bite marks LOL
Were happy Scott won, though didn’t actually see the race, just the highlights.

Thanks Kimberly!

LOL Ok Alice!
hehe

I’m Australian (Go Queensland) aswell and from all the books i’ve read Australia usually only gets a passing mention but for the 6th novel in the Jaz Parks series (which btw I got my friends hooked on, even the really cyncical ones who always mention cheesy cliches when the see one) to be acutally set here is just totally amazing! although I cant see Jaz and Vayl restricting their adventures to just the area around Sydney (which is an absolutly gorgeous area of Aus i’ll admit) but I can imagine them more in the countries capital Canberra causing a fuss at parliment house or maybe Adeliede since its got all those really old classic buildings.
Congradulations Jennifer and i’d love to see you in Aus for the release. that would be completely awesome!
September 21st, 2008 at 6:35 am
YAY! That is such great news – about all the up coming books congratulations! As one of your many Aussie Fan Base, it would be fantastic if you came here for a signing or visit
) Can’t wait to see what Jaz and Val have in store. . .
September 22nd, 2008 at 4:22 am
Ditto! I will be in line with bells on (or perhaps some natty sequins – they’re less noisy) if you get to Oz #B)
September 22nd, 2008 at 5:56 am
Glad you’re psyched about the location for book six, Lizzy! I’ll do my best to make you proud, but I have to say we won’t be featuring any cities in the book beyond the opening scene. Think a small (fictional) town outside Canberra.
Thanks, Raech! Hope you’re up for another page-turner!
Cool deal, Vanessa. At this rate I’ll at least have to make a virtual trip to your lovely country. (Which, btw, more and more makes me think there’s been some administrative mistake Upstairs. Clearly I should be from a country called Oz, so somewhere along the line my ancestors got their navigational messages mixed up and totally moved the wrong direction. I may have to begin campaigning for honorary residency!)
September 22nd, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Hehehe well I do have to warn you we have no munchkins, no yellow brick road, and no wizard. But we do have enough weird creatures (well, weird to the rest of the world) to qualify for some kind of “fantastical country” award. #B)
October 14th, 2008 at 6:38 pm
Oh. My. Golly!
Hehe! Thats great! I only just finished reading Bitten To Death & I loved it!

Great, great, GREAT job with the Jaz Parks seires. Loving it x (:
Love, Tate x
October 14th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Thanks so much, Tate! I’m actually doing some in-depth Aussie research right now. And, as usual when I delve into the location for my next book, I’ve decided I absolutely HAVE to visit! Don’t know when, but it’s definitely on my list!
October 17th, 2008 at 8:23 am
(: That would be awesome!
I can’t wait!! (: (: (:
(P.S: It’s 1:23am & I am hyped up on Coffee and Sugar… I’ve been reading all night, if you were wondering why all the smiley faces & stuff….) haha (:
Love, Tate x
October 17th, 2008 at 9:54 am
Mmmm, sugar!
December 29th, 2008 at 4:59 am
That’s terrific news! Congrats
Heads up, you shouldn’t detail where exactly because I know a few peeps who would actually go there to see it for themselves!
