Puzzlers
Mysteries bring us some of the greatest joys in life. We love being presented with a puzzle and figuring out how the pieces fit. Surely that’s why Sherlock Holmes is such an enduring character in our fiction. And why we continue to look for new heroes to lead us through the maze of murder, suspects and clues until we find an answer that both surprises and satisfies us.
So here’s a more innocent mystery you might all help solve: Who will Cole hook up with in the end? Have we already met her? Is she yet to be introduced? And why, after a long string of failed romances, will she be the one to turn his head permanently? I know who my bets are on. Where’s your money at?

Oooh! I don’t think he’s met her yet, because I think she will be a female Vayl. If Cole can’t have Jaz, then he’ll emulate her instead. I hope he survives it

I don’t think we’ve met her yet. Cassandra was a possibility until she met Dave, but Cole’s still so wrapped up in Jaz that I don’t think he can see anyone else very clearly.

I hope he doesn’t pine for Jaz, which I can see him doing, sort of “She’ll come to her senses and want me when she realizes he’s just a vampire” etc etc.

Marissa, in my book pining is whining, which is annoying to hear and write about. So I wouldn’t expect him to react that way. Hopefully his way of dealing results in more laughs than anything else.
Yeah, Adele, he’s still my all-time fave detective.

I don’t want to try to guess who Cole’ll end up with cause that would ruin the surprise. I hate when you know what’s going to happen before it happens. There are so many books out there that just give everything away and spoil the big ending. Of course not Jaz’s books, with her as a narrator anything could happen and you would never see it coming.

ok um…i hope he doesn’t find someone who is exactly like Jaz cause that would be just a way to replace her…
i think it might take a bit to turn his head around but i think once she’s done it he’ll be smittened!
i don’t think we’ve met her yet, but when we do she wont make a dramatic entrince, she might even be an damsel in distress and saving her might have made him feel like a hero. Cole has such a big personality i think she might need to be quiet, not to quiet but enough to let him ramble with out competition.
i dunno though…

I dont think we have met her yet either. I think she will be the opposite to Jaz and lurve will take Cole by surprise. She will make him think, feel and act in ways that are sooooo un-Cole it will scare the pants off of him (yeah, that way too!) Maybe a little bookworm or wallflower who has a tigress lurking, stalking just under the surface. Yeah…

I agree on the special, Penny. I’ve never seen Cole as a love-em-leave-em although he seems that way until you scratch the surface. He’s definitely looking for something amazing.

I really feel that the whole thing is going to be uber complicated because the woman I see for Cole is very Jazish, and no, I don’t think we’ve met her yet. I think it’s going to take a nasty turn compitition wise for our little assasin perhaps professionally and she could get a little petty and unpleasant about it.

Jackie B & Gareth, I actually did wonder if Cole was gay for a while. But when I thought about it, I realized he wasn’t. Sorry fellas. Maybe in my next series!

I agree with EMarie, she could well be competition for Jaz in more ways than one. Another assasin would be awsome! I still say a bookworm type, but I dont think Jaz will like her. In the same way Cole gets along with everyone but Vayl, this one will get along with everyone except Jaz. Maybe Jaz kinda likes Cole having a not-so-secret crush on her… Could get very, very complicated.

Hehe if its going to be someone Jazy, and one that is a competition assassin wise then I’d say Floraidh Halsey sounds like the the perfect person.. if she is jazy at all XD. It would make for and intresting read at the least (:

I don’t know who Cole will end up with, but I hope it happens soon. I think we’ll meet her in the next book but I could see it playing out one of two ways they’ll either fall fast and hard, or a really really slow simmer…
