Book Lovers Unite!

After last week’s blog, it became clear to me that we’re a group of book fanatics.  Which makes perfect sense.  So I thought I’d give you a little taste of Bite Marks, coming to a bookstore near you this October.  Here’s a look at some of the terrain our heroes will have to traverse during part of the climactic scene of the book.

Now you’ve seen a bit of mine, tell me about yours.  Whatcha reading right now?

If this was one of those 7 steps meetings i would be standing up and saying “Hello my name is Erin and I’m a book fanatic”
I have so manny i’m running out of room to put them. But latley i’ve been reading a mismash of things.
The Accidental Human by Dakota Cassidy (great third book in the series)
Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs (love this series great heroine. be interisting if Jaz and her met i think they would be friends)
Maverick by Lora Leigh (sigh i want an alfa male of my own :)
Twilight: Director’s Notebook by Catherine Hardwicke (yes i’m one of those people who loved the books and liked the movie)
Supernatural: John Winchester’s Journal by Alex Irvine (I LOVE THIS SHOW if i could only watch one show this would be the one i’d pick it’s the best, this gives you so much back ground info on the boys and their father. Plus you always saw them looking in the journal and i was always curious as to what was in it)
I also just finished re-reading the first Jaz book and i’m going to re-read the whole series until the new one comes out. It’s Even better the second time around.

  2. Samantha Says:

    One More Bite!
    FINALLY!!!!!

  3. Emma Says:

Right now I’m in the land of Danny Valentine “Dead ManRusing” by Lilith Saintcrow. I’ve been collecting so many new books of late I just can’t seem to decide what to go to next, which does tend to drive me slightly nuts.

There’s never enough time in the day to read as much as I would like to.

Life can be so cruel, lol!

  4. Becky Says:

Since I work at a book store I have been busy reading ARCs lately (Advance reader copies) tying to get a feel for what is going to be hitting our shelves in May/June. Since most of the books I get from the boss are young adult or romance I feel like I have been indulging in what I consider mind-candy a lot lately.

Away from work I just finished reading T. C. Boyle’s new book “the Women” which is a historical fiction about the three women Frank Lloyd Wright married and the one he had an affair with. His mistress and her two children were victims in a brutal mass murder at his home that caused major scandal throughout the world.

I also just picked up Keri Aurthur’s newest book “Deadly Desire” which was released Tuesday.

  5. Joanne Hepburn - Hall Says:

Just finished Promises in death by J.D.Robb and conversly, one of Galen Foleys Historical dramas. I’m a book addict and often have several different genre’s on the go at once. From Laurell K.Hamilton to biographies!!!!!

  6. Jackie B Says:

    Wow, that is gorgeous!!

Just finished The Quickening by Antonia Tiranth. Great book about dragons big and small. : )

  7. Marissa Turner Says:

Sadly, I’m only reading my own stuff right now. Working on edits, and trying to get over the hump in the WIP, and after it’s all done, I don’t even want to THINK about reading. I just drive into my yarn bin and hide in there with all the fiber softness.

  8. Penny Says:

Currently Julie Kenner’s Deja Demon, I am currently waiting for some of my favourite authors to come out in New Zealand, or come into the library system (you, Patrica Briggs, Kim Harrison, Mark Del Franco (next on the reserve list), Charlaine Harris, Rachel Vincent, Keri Arthur) at least I should have a good pile of wet winter days reading :-D .

  9. Melanie Says:

I am a student in an honors English class at my highschool and we are reading especially American novels this year. The one we are reading currently, The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand is an excellent book even thought it is almost 700 pages long! A few of the other novels we have read are: Walden by Henry David Thoreau, The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and The American by Henry James. While it is a pain in the ass to have to annotate while reading, many of the novels are very well-written and so far, The Fountainhead, although the largest, is my favorite.

  10. Monica Says:

Currently it’s Eulalia by Brian Jacques. Kinda a kids book – but I like it anyway…and Work in Progress: An Unfinished Woman’s Guide to Grace by Kristen Armstrong.

  11. Jenna Says:

I am a student and I admittedly let my studying suffer for the love of books, much to my instructor’s annoyance. Recently I was lost in the world of “The Tree Shepherd’s Daughter” by Gillian Summers, “Wake” and then “Fade” by Lisa McMann, The Weather Warden Series by Rachel Caine, Moira J. Moore’s Hero series “Resenting the Hero”, “The Hero Strikes Back” and “Heros Adrift”, Patricia Briggs new Mercy Book “Bone Crossed” and I am about to start, “The Good Fairies of New York” by Martin Millar.
Of course there are also the books I continue to go back to time and time again cause they are just that good. Tamora Pierce’s “Lioness Quartet”, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes’ “Hawk Song”, Kelly Armstrong’s “Bitten” and of course the best of them all Jennifer Rardin’s “Jaz Parks Series” from begining to end (usually right before the newest volume comes out, you know, to fall in love all over again).

  12. Meryl Says:

Right now I am reading Dream Warrior by Sherrilyn Kenyon…Erin if I may ask, how is the accidental human I’ve been wanting to read it since I read the first two.

  13. Rayne Says:

Omg that looks so cool, and I can’t wait to read bite marks!!
I’m currently on a Scott Westerfield kick, I just finished the Uglies series(and am super excited to find out that its becoming a movie), and I’m onto his series Midnighters.
One thing I have come to realize though, is that no matter what, whenever I finish a book, I go back to the Jaz Parks series. I totally don’t mean to gush, but that’s the only series that I can read over and over again and not get bored. I read the Twilight series and after I finished it I never read any of them again.
Which just goes to show how captivating a writer you are lol :D

  14. Biff Says:

Yay an Emu! Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause :)

  15. Bec Says:

    Hey, I’m Bec and I’m a book-aholic.

I’m currently perusing through the Twilight Directors Book. It’s pretty interesting but I’m taking a trip to Borders in a couple of hours so hopefully I’ll have something better to read. :)

  16. Chloe Says:

EMUS! Oh god, I hope no marauding birds are going to chase after them… because birds that are larger than you that can run REALLY fast are scary when they’re chasing after you.
    Just saying.

As to books I’m reading currently… I have about three in various stages of progress.
A Companion to Wolves by Sarah Monette and Elizabeth Bear, which I am periodically giggling over and feeds my previous obsession with Nordic mythology. (And my inner fangirl. Naturally.)
Shadow web by N.M. Browne which I’m not finding that interesting despite the fabulous premise. (Alternate version of London which is vaguely steampunkish.)
Finally, I’m reading the last story in the omnibus Happy Ever After by Adele Geras. I’d read the other two stories in my typical second story first fashion three or so years ago but never read the last one. I’m able to see the fairytale allusions MUCH clearer now though.

  17. Nixie Says:

I’m in law school so I spend the majority of my time reading case books, which is not exactly the most exciting material. When I have the time I like to read John Grisham, J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Richelle Mead and of course the Jaz Parks series.

  18. Taylor (: Says:

    Right now I’m reading:

    ~ Betrayed – P.C + Kristin Cast (for the 3rd time)
~ To The Nines – Janet Evanovich (2nd time)
~ Eclipse – Stephenie Meyer (6th time. Okay, leave me alone, I’ve loved this series since 2006, I ain’t stopping now!)
~ Definitely Dead – Charlaine Harris (1st time! Yaaay.)
~ Twilight: The Directors Notebook – Catherine Hardwicke. (1st time.)

I have so many books in my To Be Read pile. So, so many! -.- I can’t wait.

  19. Zita Says:

I’m re-reading Jayne Ann Krentz’s Arcane Society series. I think I’ll re-read her Ghost Hunter series next. On the other hand, there are a lot of new releases coming out soon, so maybe not :-)

  20. ame Says:

Ha! it looks alot like my place.

Im re-reading kim harrisons hallows seies (cant wait for book 7) and bram stokes Drcula.

  21. zanheltangia Says:

Wow, so cool! That is an inspirational picture. I can imagine a lot of things going on there. (I like to collect images of places where I picture my characters traveling through or speaking at… I’ve got quite a few now…)

Hm. I just finished Kat Richardson’s Greywalker. It was okay. I didn’t get quite as involved in reading it as I had hoped, but I’ll see how it goes when I read the next in the series, Poltergeist. I’ll pick up the next, Underground, later on if I don’t get hooked during Poltergeist.

Other than that, I’ve been rereading quite a few of my Mangas/graphic novels. I like to do that between books when I just want to get a quick story with a visual in. I do it to get the mental gears grinding after work, ironically, right up to the point where I go to sleep. Not easy to fall asleep with the thoughts running at full blast, but I like it that way. I’ll get back to my to-read stack later. :)

Erin I love Patricia Brigg’s Mercy Thompson series! I can’t wait until Bone Crossed goes into paperback. I almost bought the hard cover three times before I convinced myself that the paperback will save shelf space. *giggles* did you know that there is a comic series as well? I just found out myself. I think I’m going to order myself a copy of the comics.

  22. Adele Says:

I just finished Hell Bent on Success by AMP Mills which was really entertaining and a reading the “Collected Works of T.S.Spivet” ARC at the moment as well as The Forgotten Garden which is my next book group book.

  23. jrardin Says:

LOL, Erin! Did you see the new Supernatural last night? Sooo good! Is Sam bulking up? He looked massive to me!

Woohoo! Hope you enjoy it, Samantha!

Too true, Emma. I have very little time to read now that every minute is pretty much spent writing. So I sympathize!

I liked The Fountainhead too, Melanie.

My son read a lot of Brian Jacques books a few years back, Monica, and I kept thinking I’d grab one and read it. Glad you reminded me!

That’s a full list, Jenna! I like Patricia’s stuff too.

Sherrilyn never disappoints, does she Meryl?

Thanks so much, Rayne. I’ll have to check out Westerfield. Just that series title, the Uglies, sounds intriguing!

Wow, neat to get a preview, Becky. I expect Keri’s book will be pretty good.

Sounds like you have a wide range of tastes, Joanne. Cool.

I’d never snub dragons, Jackie B. May have to try that one out.

That’s how good stuff gets written, Marissa. Hang in there!

I’m hoping Orbit will become much more New Zealand friendly now that they have an office in Australia, Penny. Fingers crossed!

My (twin) brothers had an emu in the pasture behind their house for years, Biff. Not a very friendly bird, but amusing to watch.

You’re in good company, Bec! Dontcha just love trips to the bookstore! Feels like home, only better because you don’t have to clean!

No bird attacks, Chloe. Can’t say the same for gnomes…

Wow, Nixie, kudos for your ability to read the law stuff and stay awake!! Definitely shows you’re in the right field!

Great list, Taylor. Sounds like you have lots of great mind-adventures ahead!

Interesting, Zita. Haven’t heard of her, so I’ll have to look into those.

Ahh, a lover of the classic vampire. Way to go, ame!

I had to idea about the comic series, zanheltangia. Obviously you’re a really visual person, so I can see how exciting that is for you. I, too, like to find pictures of the places I’m writing about whenever possible. Book seven takes place in Marrakesh, Morocco, so I’ve been filling my brain with images of the city. Huge fun!

Great titles to add to my list, Adele! Hope you enjoy The Forgotten Garden.

  24. Erin Says:

Meryl I love the dream hunter series too!! and the third Accidental book it grate! It gives you her perspective on the trio of friends and shows shes not as prim and proper as you think. don’t want to ruin the ending but its a surprise and its sooo goood.
Zanheltangia i couldn’t wait so i bought it in hard back and i agree about the space but i have a shelf just for hard backs so i make room. and i didn’t know about the comic series i’ll have to look for that. It would be so great to see if what everyone looks like in my head matches up with what they come up with. Thanks!!
Jrardin I did see last nights episode and he does look bigger but i think he’s been steadily getting bigger all season, More to oggle! Giggles!!

  25. Meryl Says:

You watch supernatural too? I can’t believe it…that is sooooooo cool, I wonder what the next episode will bring. I was wondering, are you going to bring on mysterious new good guys in the Bitten series kind of how Supernatural did with the angels, or are you going to show is some of Raul’s higher ups?

  26. Lauren Says:

this is a bit random and off topic but im trying to finish reading your series and having a bitch of a time trying to find “one more bite” however that could be because i live in australia… i might have to get it ordered in or something… any suggestions?

other than that just finished interview with the vampire… and my friend bought me a copy of dracula from the second hand book shop she works at so i would say that one is next on the agenda :)

  27. Hannah Says:

I just got done reading Magic Strikes By Ilona Andrews. Great book,I high recommend this series if you like a kick ass heroine and a very hot shape shifter.
Im just starting Deadly Desires by Keri Arhtur.

  28. jrardin Says:

    LOL, Erin!

Absolutely, Meryl. My daughter got season 1 and 2 for Christmas and I got season 3. So we pretty much don’t let a week go by without our Sam and Dean fix. Love the direction the series is going. And would seriously love to meet the creator.

Lauren, I’m not certain One More Bite has been released in Australia yet. Any Aussies out there who can tell us for sure? While we’re waiting, I’ll see if I can get an answer from New York. (I’ve already asked once, but I think my contact must be vacationing, because I haven’t heard.)

I’ll definitely look into Magic Strikes, Hannah. Thanks for the recommendation.

  29. Rose Says:

I’ve been spoiling myself with candy-like-books. ^^; I should stop soon though… it’s gotten to the point where I’m actually picky about what I read x.x Not good…

I just finished reading the Vampire Diaries series by L.J. Smith. Before that I read Salvation and Promises in Death by J.D. Robb.

  30. Lauren Says:

oh okay. bummer. thanks for that. let me know if you find out. :)

  31. Rayne Says:

Wow, I love how Supernatural came up as a topic in this thread. I think Sam is bulking up too, but I always thought Jared Padalecki played the hotter brother lol. I love the way Supernatural’s episodes play out, they’re written very well, and that, along with Dollhouse are my favorite shows right now.
By the way Jennifer, if you do happen to watch Dollhouse, or have seen any of the past episodes(the series is brand new, there’ve been like, 6 so far),
http://www.hulu.com/watch/61044/dollhouse-gray-hour#s-p1-so-i0 this episode cemented in stone my choice in Eliza Dushku as Jaz in a live action movie. But if you’ve never watched the series you totally should! It’s great, and hulu has all the episodes so far :-)

  32. Bec Says:

Yeah I remember walking into Borders for the first time last year (I was embarrassed about my book addiction up until the start of last year. I’m loud and proud now. :D ) and yeah, I looked around and people were sitting in between the shelves with a coffee and a book and I felt so comfy.
But alas, my budget for the day didn’t allow me to get anything that caught my attention. Pity. I had to have a reread session today. :(

  33. Emzie-pooh Says:

love the random emu!!! right now i’m readig two books (at the same time) i’m weird like that. at the moment i’m reading sex and the single vampire and frenchman’s creek.
first one is about a woman called Allegra who escaped her abusive husband (who killed her brother) and finds this vampire who is determined she is not his Beloved (true love). and as you can quess there’s a bit of lovin in the book too, hence the title.
second one is about a woman called Dona who is from about the 18oo’s ish. she’s bored with living in london and all of high society so she leaves her husband and takes her two children to her husbands childhood home near the sea. owever she soon meets a french pirate who apparently has been terrifying everyone. you only hear his name twice in the whole book.
so, what are you reading at the moment jennifer? (apart from your books of course.)

  34. Taylor (: Says:

Lauren, getting books over here in Aus sucks! I have to order all of mine off Amazon, which costs a fair bit..
But it’s very much worth it (:
Sorry I couldn’t help you out more..

  35. Megzy Says:

I aquired One more bite on friday and finished it a few hours ago, and loved it!!! YAY!!
    They finaly said it!!
Cant wait for the 6th book! They’re comming to Australia!!!YAY!!
Ummmm, before this i the city of glass trilogy by cassandra clare.

  36. Phoebe Says:

I’m too busy to read. I’m too busy to read because I’m writing about soldier-like angels that I started last year and I’m now punching myself in the face because it looks like I copied Supernatural. Damn you, Supernatural! LOL.

I’ll also agree that Dollhouse is truly awesome.

At the moment I have three books on the go that I haven’t finished and a fourth that I’m reading randomly… I suck. I started reading the second Anita Blake book, but only got about three chapters in then got distracted, and when I came to read again, I picked up Stephen King’s Duma Key, but again got distracted, and picked up Stray by Rachel Vincent (who, by the way, confuses me, because my favourite am/pro dance couple is Rachel & Vincent). And I’m reading Stephen King’s Desperation on and off, because that has to be my favourite book. It’s epic – and weird – but mostly epic.

  37. Gareth Says:

LOL, to be honest Jenn I’d love to get sponsorship from a certain Swedish furniture store as I’d love to have them come round and redo my front room with loads of bookshelves, along with sorting out a work area and a whole new set of seating. It would be cool and I suspect that most book addicts would love to have a library room to have all thier titles out and available to hand.

I suspect thats part of my problem I have an absolute load of books (I think somewhere around a couple of thousand) and Im having to clear out a number so that I’ve got space for the others to live. Its hard however Im making sure that the charity shops benefit from it.

Other than that, I’ve just finished Redheaded Stepchild which was good fun and Im about to start the new Simon Green novel. Also if you like Crichton I’ve also finished a book called Fragment by Warren Fahy.

I’m like Tez though we both tend to read loads in a month so its pretty hard when people ask you what your reading or have just read and we throw a list out that at times is the equivalent of most people’s yearly list. LOL

  38. Samantha Says:

    OMG!!!!
I am LOVING One More Bite!
    You’re a GENIUS Ms. Rardin!

  39. Penny Says:

Just noticed our local library (New Zealand) has One More Bite in, but they do order some very popular stuff from Amazon :-D May have to go ask at the local bookstore again. I do know that here Borders get it first (and it costs more there), and everyone else gets it a 4 to 6 weeks later. Luckily local Dymocks is managed by a Sci-fi/fantasy nut :-)

  40. Jo-Anne Says:

I have been waiting for book 5 and now I know that it could almost be within my grasp!! I want ‘One More Bite’! Sometimes being is Australia sucks!

I read a whole lot. I’m 23 but get into trouble for reading so much. Lately i have been reading Lilith Saintcrow, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Cassandra Clare, Laurel K. Hamilton. Just started to get into Kerri Armstrong, Charlaine Harris(True Blood is so awesome). My family keeps telling me to sell my books! Can you believe that!? They don’t understand my obsession.

Supernatural rocks. I love Jensen Ackles!!

  41. Vale Says:

Book fanatics? Hell yeah! Here I am!
Some days I’d love to just sit on my bed and read what I want all day. And I’d put a big notice down the stairs to my room reading like “no one’s home, so don’t even bother calling or coming up and knocking!”.
At the moment I’m finishing to re-read your Bitten to Death, since I started re-reading them all while I was waiting to get my copy of One More Bite (which I’m going to read again next). I’m also going back to Jeanine Frost’s Cat and Bones’s series at times. And I’m wondering if I should give a try to Alyson Noel’s Evermore. I got the advice from Amazon, but I wasn’t able to find many reviews about it, so I don’t really know.

  42. jrardin Says:

Okay you guys, Jensen Ackles as Cole. Can you see it?

  43. Lauren Says:

yes so yes about jensen. LOL

OH AND IN REGARDS TO THE AUSTRALIA DATE THAT I ASKED ABOUT… i went to the local book shops today apparently one more bite must have been released in the last couple of days or they got a new shipment coz suddenly it was everywhere. :)

  44. Beckie~B Says:

Jensen Ackles as Cole I’d love to see..or as anything else just quietly

I’m more of an addict then a fanatic …..due to devouring a book everyday and a half (quite an expensive addiction as it turns out) I have been place on a budget :p
Jaz’s stories were suggested to me by a flustered bookshop worker after i had read her suggestions as something that she hadn’t read yet but had just taken home for herself I don’t normally purchase books that dont have the complete series out as i do read really fast and curiosity never did good things for me or the cat, but i must say I love it so far and am so glad i broke my rule!….I started it last night and am almost through the 1st book and even through my time at work im constantly being distracted with whats going to happen (thank god im not s surgeon i guess)

To the book suggestions….non vamp books I’d deffo recommend for a strong heroin fantasy books would be the Last T’en by Cory Daniels, I loved the Tamora Pierce books too, Isobel Carmody and while I usually prefer heroines created by female authors I loved the James Clements “Witch” series

For Romance I totally love Julie Garwood…anything by her is a safe bet

So far in the paranormal romance (and despite a love of Vamps) I’m kina new to this due to a flood of rubbish when i 1st tested the waters a few years back, but thanks to my friendly neighbourhood book lady i have been shown the error of my ways starting with Charlain Harris and Sookies stories that as it ends are a great place to start, not to heavy not to light, well other then Twilight that is which kinda goes without saying (not many females of any age were impervious to Edward Cullens charms ….I also gave J.R Ward a go and if you like steamy dark and brooding in your vamp they’re deffo the way to go (as long as you don’t have delicate sensibilities when it comes to sex scenes in your books)…if your after a light snack Katie MacAlister is a good way to go with bits of wry humour spattered in with her heroines …I have a few more on the shelf until i can get more of the series’ so I’ll see how i go

I think Jaz kinda has an Alias with the undead feel about it and cant wait to keep reading..(only 2 and a half hours and counting until the work day is over and i can get back to the important stuff….(like seeing if Cole steals anymore kisses)
Sorry I talk too much lol

  45. Jo-Anne Says:

Oooh, yeh I can!! I put my hand up to watch him as Cole alright. Will there be any shirtless scenes? LOL.

Who could be Vayl and Jaz though?

  46. Rayne Says:

It’s extremely possible, because he ALWAYS gets a girl, and Cole has that charisma, but I still think Chris Evans would be the best Cole. Jensen Ackles seems like he’s too serious to be all funny and clever like Chris Evans is. But I can see it.

  47. Rox! Says:

Yes, Jen, can totally see JA stepping into Cole’s shoes. HOT!

Reading The Other Queen by Philippa Gregory right now. Having a hard time getting into it, and I usually like her reimagining of historical info. Oh, well. Won’t give up, tho.

  48. jrardin Says:

That’s excellent news, Lauren! Now we can spread the good word–thanks for letting me know!

Thanks for breaking your rule for Jaz and Vayl, Becky B! With eight books contracted, I’m still not sure how the series ends, so you might’ve had to wait twenty more years if you hadn’t decided to pick it up!

    Shirtless? Absolutely, Jo-Anne!

I thought you might say that, Rayne. But I believe Jensen can pull off the funny. There’ve been a few episodes that had me rolling, and he was the reason.

Then it’s settled, Rox! Next time I see him I’ll let him know (snort!).

  49. Mel Says:

Have been reading a lot of Elizabethan history lately, stuff about the Great Fire, the Spanish Armada, and of course, Dudley. I think I’m the only person I know who reads more non-fiction than fiction. Found a fab book about Victorian houses, which is nice because I own one, and next up is a more general history of ancient England. I love books like Jennifers, but I can read them in an afternoon!

  50. Ella Says:

I also LOVE reading (seriously, I think I might have a problem) but I don’t own a lot of books. I download them on my cellphone! I can read almost any book I want, just by typing in the name and downloading it. It’s awesome!! I’m saving money to buy some actual books, cause it’s still nicer to read an actual BOOK book, and I’m definitely buying Jaz Parks!!

  51. Meryl Says:

I could definitely see Jensen Ackles as Cole…Sydeny Potier (daughter not father) as Cassandra, I think she has the look. I WISH THAT THEY WOULD HAVE A TV SERIES/TV MOVIE/ACTUAL MOVIE FOR THE SERIES!!!!!!!I mean come on I would love to see the crew in a live action movie or you know like a Beowulf animation type feel, I’m not being picky I just want other people to appreciate the awesomeness of the series. And look up Aidan Turner, he’s Irish and I totally think that that is what Vayl should look like….He’s smoken hot. Oh Well, that’s my rant. Peace Love and Death Metal. TTFN.

  52. gtpeach Says:

haha! that looks awesome. the picture makes me wonder exacrtly how jaz would fight a rabid emu! ;)

I just picked a book off the same shelf as your books. It’s the 1st book in the Nocturn City series – Nightlife by Caitlin Kittredge. Looks pretty good so far.

If we’re discussing who we see in these roles? May I remind you that -when- this series gets filmed, I want the chance to read for Jaz?? I’ve acted before, and I’m trying to break through but the world is so hard – especialyl wen you’re not in LA. I can kick and do those tricks!

  53. Almaylie Says:

Awsome place But has me thinking whats going to go on here? I read a lot so at the moment i am reading:
    -Sundancer, Shelly Paterson
-Twilight,New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, Stephenie Meyer
    -Fire Star, Chris D’lancy
    - Your books for the umpteenth time
And i Think it would be a great idea to make a movie/Tv series out of Jaz’s life i mean who doesn’t want to see what Vayl, Jaz, or Any of the rest of the characters look like in real life?

  54. jrardin Says:

I’ll bet you’re never bored, Mel!

That’s amazing, Ella. My eyes hurt, just thinking about it, but I’m glad you have that kind of access!

LOL, gtpeach. Now I’m going to have rabid emus on my mind all day!

I’m all for the visual on Jaz & Vayl, Almaylie! Where do I sign?

  55. Jo-Anne Says:

They’ve decided to turn Anita Blake into a TV movie, so why not Jaz??? (they already have Sookie Stackhouse too.)

OOOhh, maybe we should start a petition?!
I’d so put my name down.

  56. jrardin Says:

Excellent idea, Jo-Anne. I think Hollywood responds to petitions!

I would totally sign up, and question for oh great one, How do you come up for ideas for each story do you get inspiried by events around you or does it just kind of fall into place?

  58. Emily Says:

At the moment I’m reading the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. They were a tiny bit confusing and hard to get into at first but now I love them. And where do I sign this petition thingy???

  59. Gabi Says:

I just got done reading a few books, all of which were pretty good
    Storm Born- Richelle Mead
    Wicked Lovely- Melissa Marr
The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare
Nice Girls Dont Have Fangs- Molly Harper

I just ordered Wake by Lisa McMann and I have Ill Wind by Rachel Caine in my TBR pile :)

Also I would suggest reading the series by Jeaniene Frost with Cat and Bones and Richelle Meads Vampire Academy series

So, like most of you. I’m a book-aholic. I had to go out and buy another bookcase. I read and re-read books all the time. Here’s some if the books I’ve been reading this past month.

    Poison Study- Maria V. Snyder
(great series. I have to admit I’ve reread this to the point that I had to buy a new copy)
    The Mortal Instruments- Cassandra Clare
    (great concepts in this book)
    Vampire Diaries Series- LJ Smith
(Love that they are making this into a TV series. Hopefully it will be better than some of the books-to-TV things that have come out before)
Can’t wait for Bite Marks to come out!!

P.S. Yay Jensen Ackles as Cole gets my thumbs up

  62. Janelle Says:

Once Bitten, Twice Shy (for the 3rd time)
Tempting Evil by Keri Arthur (for the 2nd time)
but I am waiting for your next book to come out and the next one in the anita blake series

  63. Gordon Rittie Says:

You know what I love more than anything? His Lady Mistress. This is the novel that got me into Elizabeth Rolls, and I loved it. The romance was mind blowing and very sensual, the characters are believably flawed (sometimes this is difficult for romance novelists to accomplish) and while it is (as always) frustrating to see how their issues could be resolved with an honest conversation about their misunderstandings, it is easy to see how the misunderstandings come to be and why each character stays within themselves instead of becoming vulnerable. Max’s difficult family life is further explained in “A Compromised Lady,” which is the story of Richard’s romance. I have read and reread this book – LOVE IT.
