Please Welcome Guest Author…Mario Acevedo!
As a new member of the League of Reluctant Adults, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting lots of new authors who, like myself, get a big kick out of writing out-of-the-ordinary stories. One of those authors is Mario Acevedo, whose new book, Jailbait Zombie, was just released a couple of months ago.
Here’s the lowdown: “Vampires versus Zombies, round one . . .Vampire detective Felix Gomez has seen a lot of weird things since becoming one of the undead—nymphomaniacs, aliens, and X-rated bloodsuckers, just to name a few—but now he comes face-to-face with the worst sort of undead.
To stop a ravenous army of zombies, Gomez must team up with a precocious teen with clairvoyant powers whose cooperation comes at a price: she won’t help unless Felix makes her a vampire . . . if the zombies don’t get her first.”
Sounds cool to me! Especially combined with this cover!
So I thought I’d asked Mario a few questions. Here’s what he had to say . . .
1. Say we wanted to enter the world of Felix Gomez, vampire PI? What
should we pack in our survival kit?
Mario sez: A toothbrush and deodorant. My vampires are very much into hygiene.
2. What would Felix have to say about his latest adventure?
Mario sez: Ouch. And,”I hate zombies! I need more bullets!”
3. Cool trailer! Can you give us some insight into its creation?
Mario sez: My son Emil is the Lego genius. He and I brainstorm a script. I
helped make some of the props (The coffin car in the first video. The
safe in the second.) He comes up with the cool special effects. All
stop-motion, no weenie Photoshop.
4. What do you think your series brings to urban fantasy that it was
in dire need of before Felix hit the scene?
Mario sez: Lots of authentic virility. And manhattans.
You can find Mario at his blog or at the League of Reluctant Adults.

Is there anything Mario’s vamps can’t do? (Except perhaps beat the Zombies at Rock Band.) LOL
Great to see another Leaguer here. (Or is that Lurker. LOL)
Cracking stuff Jenn.

Wow, it sounds cool, although I’m not that big a fan of zombies.
