Speaking of which, I’m planning on finishing the second draft of Bitten in Two by the end of the month. Lots about the story is delighting me, but I’m especially happy about how Bergman is developing. Could a lady be involved? Well, you’ll just have to wait until you have the book in hand to find out. But if you did hook Bergman up–what kind of woman would you match him with?

Oddly enough – someone not extremely mechanically scientific. But someone intelligent enough to still appreciate what he does. Maybe a naturalist chemist or something like that?

He needs some balance. And good dinner.

  2. SciFiChick Says:

    No Indy? :(

  3. Emily Says:

I’m definitely thinking we should hook Bergman up with a blonde. I always imagine him with a brunette, so I think we should do the complete opposite of what I think.
Or maybe someone who looks really dumb but is in fact a quantum physicist or something else really clever. Hehe :D

  4. Sophie Says:

Bergmans girl should be someone cute and small, definitely a bit crazy, ok maybe a lot crazy, but in a good way. Someone who can break through all his OCD moments!

  5. Eimear Says:

:( sometimes i hate living in ireland. how about a great irish book tour? we’re a lot of fun over here yano! :D

bergman should be with a marine biologist. no idea why. but yeah. :D someone whos really confident and quirky who can bring him out of his shell!

  6. Melanie Says:

I think he should be with someone who’s his exact opposite, but loveable in her own way. Crazy–a little, but definitely someone who breaks out the best in him. Well, that’s what sounds like a good match for him would be like to me. I also think that she shouldn’t be a scientist like him–just a girl with a normal job, I guess. I can’t picture him arguing away with a woman over quantum physics. I don’t know why, I just can’t.

  7. Meryl Says:

I think that he should either go with someone normal like a girlwho owns a coffee shop or a nurse. Or I think since he said he is trying to go outside his comfort zone he should go with someone outside his comfort zone; like a tattoo artist whose a good witch or someone who is a bit naughty like a con artist or a thief who knows her way around a security system or three. If you have seen Supernatural…I’m thinking Bella but you know better.

  8. Vale Says:

I wish you the best for your tour! And don’t worry, you’ll be doing great!

I don’t know why, but at the moment I’m imagining to hook up Bergman with a girl who’s a bit clumsy – like, she makes things fall when she moves – but at the same time knows it all about how to solve simple questions and problems of everyday life – like Granny’s remedies for aches, or things like that… I don’t think a scientist or a fellow technician would be good for him, he’d remain too closed up in his own world, just adding confrontation with her to it.

  9. Carly Says:

omgosh i think that he should be hooked up wif a cute petite little blond who like the idea before me is a quantum physicist it would be totally awesome someone whocan cook him a good meal and dress him up properly but can be as ocd as him about her work.

  10. Emma Says:

I’m thinking, intellectual, able to stand up to him and sort him out when he gets all paranoid. Probably not a good idea for her to be an inventor as that might increase his paranoia. But why not beautiful, smart, and dependable.

  11. jrardin Says:

I’m trying to imagine Bergman with some meat on his bones, Tori. Could be a good thing!

Not this time, SciFiChick. My FB fans talked me into Evansville. However I’ll keep the contacts you gave me and hope to use them next time. Thanks so much!

That would crack me up, Emily!

That would have to be somebody incredibly special, wouldn’t it, Sophie?

I don’t doubt your funness for a minute, Eimear!

The old “opposites attract” theory, Melanie? I’d say it has some merit.

    All fab ideas, Meryl!

    Thanks, Vale! Good points, all!

Can you imagine the challenges of getting Bergman to eat, Carly? Maybe he needs a gourmet chef.

    Why not, Emma?

  12. Gareth Says:

    Hey Jenn,
My copy of BM landed yesterday so woohhoo. You must tour the UK at some point.

As to who Bergman should date, its going to have to be a woman on the same intelligence level as he. Not sure how well it would work out however. Perhaps she’d be a librarian or some such.

  13. jrardin Says:

Gareth, you must be in somebody’s good graces. I haven’t even gotten my copies yet! Hope you enjoy it!

  14. Sophie Says:

oh yes, someone very special, have to remember she’s gonna hafta be tough as well, because she’ll obviously have to meet with Jaz’s approval, not easy! small but sassy i think would be best!

  15. Taylor (: Says:

I think it would be funny if Bergman got a total hot ditsy blond chick who was as dumb as a bag of rocks and just sweeps him of his feet.
And it would help if she was a little crazy.
And if she irritated him to know end but he was still so smitten with her, it didn’t matter.

But that probably won’t happen. Ever.
    LOL.

I haven’t been on here in a while as my Dad passed away a few days ago, and we’ve been arranging funeral plans and such, but I’ll be on more now. Posting comments more often.
(I know you missed me, *wink*)
    Just kidding.
Your blog brightens up these dark and sad days.

    Thank you, Jen.

  16. zanheltangia Says:

Releases the day after my B-day. O.O! Sweet, I know what I’ll gift myself now, ;p

  17. jrardin Says:

Good point, Sophie, and Jaz has high standards!

We did miss you, Taylor. Big hugs from me and, I’m sure, everyone, as you move through this tough time.

How wonderful that you gift yourself, zanheltangia. I wish people would do that more often. They deserve it.

  18. Jackie U Says:

I smell a road trip in the air! No one comes to Wichita. Very sad. : ( But for you, I will drive, lol.

  19. jrardin Says:

That’s just too freaking cool, Jackie! (It is sad about Wichita. I had an aunt and uncle who lived there for probably twenty-five years and we never visited them. Could it be that you have some sort of invisible force field set around the state?)

  20. Shannon Says:

:( :( I still think you should take a visit 2 good ol’ England :D It’s not cold, I promise! lol.

  21. Shannon Says:

OH! And by the way, I was just wondering if you could put some of the names from your books up on your glossary??? Some I get quite confused with lol :D

  22. Sarah Brackett Says:

Well I was really hoping to be able to see you at one of the signings but between flights in November and being pregnant I won’t be able to make it. I’m really excited for you and hope to make it next time.

  23. Courtz Says:

Ok, i reckon that Bergman should definatly go out with someone who is like him. I just think it’d be really fnny if they were having a fight about how things should be made and done, with a whole lot of complicated words that i’d have tolook the meaning of up!

  24. jrardin Says:

I’ll make a note of that, Shannon. The glossary probably won’t get updated until after “Bite Marks” releases (possibly way after, knowing me). But I understand the need to reference and, if it’s feasible, (as in, not too clunky or hard to understand) I’ll try to do that with as many of the words as possible.

    No prob, Sarah, and congratulations!

I can see the potential for hilarity there, Courtz. And for me having to look those words up too!

  25. Gillian Says:

Good luck with the tour, Jennifer! Hopefully in the not too distant future you’ll come to Oz and finally see what is was you were writing about. (Although, if you ask anyone, Canberra is rather boring. Unless your Canberran…)

If I were to ever imagine Bergman with a lass, she would have to be an engineer, just like him, but not necessarily an inventor. My brain went to all sorts of dirty places with Bergman and a brunette with average height/weight/looks having an ‘argument’ over the phsyics of his latest creation and how she reckons it could be improved but he loves it just the way it is.

  26. Meryl Says:

Taylor I think it would be hilarious if he had a crazy girlfriend. If anybody has seen the TV show on TNT called Leverage. I totally think he should hook up with somebody like Parker. She is crazy and totally outside Bergman’s comfort zone but she does have a lot of heart. And I kind of think that she would measure up to Jaz’s expectations. But yeah…there are so many cool ideas for B-girls its kind of funny the gears in my head are rolling.

Jennifer good luck with the tour…I hope next time you can make it up to Wisconsin.

Quick question for you jennifer, we’ve been talking about Bergman alot (this is a bergman, duh to me) but will you be bringing in someone semi-permenant for Cole or Cassandra?

  27. jrardin Says:

Ha! Love your ideas, Gillian. And I genuinely hope a trip to Australia is in the cards for me.

I know who Cole ends up with, Meryl, but I’m not sure you’ll see that happen in book seven or eight. As for Cassandra–you’ll feel pretty sure about it after you read Bite Marks.
