Translation Please

I suppose we knew Jaz would take over the world eventually.  Well, it’s begun.  Once Bitten is poised to be translated in the countries of France and Hungary.  I just think that’s about the coolest thing since peanut butter!  Hey, do they have that in France and Hungary too?  Time for some research!

Wow, that’s awesome! Congrats. :D Let’s see when the German translation comes out! Though I don’t really need it, I prefer those books in the original language much more!

And… Germany has peanut butter, it’s American one, I think. So I suppose they should have it too… somewhere, standing in the shelf next to the frog legs!

I’m trying to imagine how much Midwesterners would flip out at having frog legs on their grocery shelves. It would be a huge attraction, I can tell you! (Imagine round-eyed townies all standing in a circle going, “Do they really taste like chicken?”)

We have peanut butter in Norway, so I think it’s a pretty safe bet to say they have it in France too ;)

  4. jrardin Says:

Cool! Best way to eat peanut butter? In a cookie, with a Hershey’s kiss stuck in the middle. Yum!

  5. Phoebe Says:

    Eeesh, peanut butter! Allergic.

I hate Hershey chocolate! My American friends told me how good it was but when I tried it I couldn’t manage more than two bites. Do you get Cadbury over there? I live near the Cadbury factory here and at the end of the tour they give you a cup of pure melted chocolate. I would go there and do the entire tour just for that!

  6. jrardin Says:

Yipes! Okay, we’ll have to think of some other sinfully delicious American dessert for you. (Would you consider chocolate chip cookies with M&Ms substituted for the chips? I just made some last week. Purty good!) All I’ve ever had from Cadbury are the eggs at Easter. An annual treat I wouldn’t give up even if I was diabetic!

    Congrats on the translations Jen.

I love the the peanut butter cups. It’s the only way to eat peanut butter.

  8. Phoebe Says:

Haha! I never tried M&M cookies, but why not?

I do love those Cadbury Eggs. Cadbury is just the nicest chocolate. It’s so rich and milky. You guys are missing out!

Oh, I meant to say this before, but it’s great news about the translations. Hungary seems quite random though, but hey, I know nothing.

  9. Carolin Says:

German/Swiss chocolate is so the best! All that cookie/peanut butter/easter eggs talk is making me hungry now… I should make some Easter cookies, like Christmas cookies, just another excuse to indulge!

Ironically the next ep in my Buffy marathon is called ‘Bad Eggs’… what does that tell us?

  10. Sayuri Says:

Bad Eggs is such an awesome episode!

  11. Jennifer Says:

Yeah, Phoebe, I was slightly surprised about Hungary, but since they’re right next to Romania, where Vayl’s from, I figure they’ll love it.

Anybody know what Joss Whedon is up to these days? Such a fan of his projects.

  12. Phoebe Says:

Ah! Did you hear about Dollhouse? He’s got a new TV show premiering hopefully in Sept/October on Fox. Eliza Dushku (Faith in Buffy) is co-producer and lead actress. He said he would’ve been ready to start airing this month, but didn’t complete the scripts before the strike.

It has an entry on wiki with a plot summary and such. I’m so excited for it!

  13. jrardin Says:

Thanks for the heads-up! Just went online and read the overview. Sounds pretty interesting!

  14. Jeff Somers Says:

Congrats jennifer–I think we’re both bought by the same Hungarian publisher, in fact. WE ROCK MAGYAR.

We certainly do! And I don’t think sequins and spandex will ever be the same!
